Innovative Design Styles for Your Cardmaking
Would you like to experiment with a design like this? You'll find a supply list below, including a link to the stencil I used from A Colorful Life Designs. Let’s Get Started:
Cream Card Base: 5.5 x 11, scored and folded at 5..5
Burgundy Border: 5.25 x 5.25
Cream Card Face: 5 ⅛ x 5 1/8
Card Face:
I secured the stencil to the card face with Mint Tape and went over the entire surface with light green ink.
I removed the stencil and wiped it off.
I rotated the stencil slightly and went over the entire surface with a medium green ink.
I repeated the process one more time, this time with dark green ink.
Other:
I used a punch to create the bow in the same cardstock that was used for the border.
Assembly:
I glued the burgundy border to the card base, centering on all sides.
I glued the card face on top of this, again centering on all sides.
I used a glue dot to secure the bow.
I added burgundy gems around the wreath randomly. (Although they appear black in the picture, they match the bow quite nicely.)
Final thoughts:
I really love this stencil, and I’m very happy with the effect I got by changing up the colours and rotating.
