Would you like to experiment with a design like this? You'll find a supply list below, including a link to the stencils I used from A Colorful Life Designs. Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Card Face: 5.25 x 4

I had already stamped and coloured this adorable image, but then didn’t know how I wanted to finished it. When this stencil was released I knew it would make a great backdrop for the mouse.

Card Face:

  • I laid the card front on my grip mat and then positioned the stencil.

  • I went over the exposed areas with blue ink.

  • I shifted the stencil to the right, and aligned up the openings with the image: I brushed pink ink into the open areas.

  • I ran the edges of the card face across a black ink pad to give more definition.

  • I stamped two small baby bottles into the lower right, as well as Daddy’s Girl and Mama’s Boy towards the upper left.

  • I added “speed streaks” behind the mouse to indicate movement.

Other:

  • I stamped the sentiment and used a die to cut it out.

  • A strip of Mint Tape was used to protect the back of the card base, and then all edges had blue or pink ink brushed on randomly. I went in from each edge about ½”, knowing that only ⅛” would show once the card face was in place.

Assembly

  • I added dimensional foam to the back of the card face and put it in place on the card face.

  • I added dimensionals to the sentiment to raise it just a bit, and put that in place as well.

Final Thoughts:

This combination works so well together to create a sweet baby shower card!
