Oh no!! The Gingerbread Man has broken out in Ginger Pox! The main symptoms are a pattern of easily identified brown spots, an odd but lovely scent of spice, and a desire to bite everyone’s head off!

Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 4.25 x 11, scored and folded at 5.5

Border: Kraft cardstock, 4.25 x 5.25

Card Face: approx 3.75 x 4.75 (after cutting with a die)

Card Face:

I used the Layered Stencilling technique on this card face: you will find a more detailed explanation under Techniques in the header.

  • I positioned the card face on my Grip Mat and laid the Baking Spirits Bright stencil in place,

  • I masked off the edges of the stencil to keep the paper clean.

  • I used Cinnamon ink lightly over the exposed surface and then went back with the same ink to darken the edges.

  • Leaving the first stencil in place, I added the first layer of the Layered Gingerbread

Men stencil on an angle and secured it with Mint tape.

  • I used the same ink again but with a heavy hand this time to be certain that there was enough contrast.

  • I removed the second stencil, but still left the first stencil in place: I added the second layer from the Layered Gingerbread Men stencil (the face and buttons).

  • I pressed Versamark embossing ink firmly into the openings, putting a couple of layers of this ink on to be certain that I hadn’t missed any of the tiny details.

  • I removed both stencils, and added embossing powder. I set this with my heat gun.

  • I used a stitched die to cut the card face down to the finished size.

Other

  • I used metallic watercolour to add gold spatter to the Kraft border layer.

  • I allowed this to dry and then placed it into a corrugated embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot.

  • I looked through my Ready to Go binder and selected a sentiment. **

** See Ready to Go Binder under Techniques in the header to learn how I use this tool to increase efficiency

Assembly

  • I glued the Kraft border to the card base, leaving a narrow border on the top and bottom.

  • I glued the card face down, tilting to the right.

  • I added a face to the large gingerbread man with translucent black beads.

  • I added three small red rhinestones as buttons on the torso of the larger gingerbread man.

  • I cut my sentiment into two pieces and glued them in place as shown.

  • I added small red rhinestones to the top left and bottom right of the Kraft border layer.

Final Thoughts:

I love both of these stencils, and had fun using them together this way.
