Let’s get Started:
Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25
Border: 5.5 x 4.25 *
Card Face: 5.25 x 4
* See Cheating on Layers and Borders under Stretch your Pennies in the header
Card Face:
I laid my card face on the Grip mat, positioned the stencil and then applied a soft brown ink across the surface.
I put the card face into my stamp positioner.
I inked up the Choose Happy stamp with a variegated ink pad and stamped it on a diagonal as shown. I inked it two or three times to get the desired saturation in the colours.
I allowed the ink on the sentiment to dry completely, and then dusted the card face liberally with an anti-static powder.
I stamped the heart using Versafine embossing ink, added copper embossing powder and set it with my heat gun.
I used an embossing pen to add dots randomly on the card face, added copper embossing powder and used my heat gun to set the powder.
I used the same embossing pen to draw a thin border around the entire card. I added copper embossing powder and set it with my heat gun.
Other:
I added dimensional foam to the back of the card face.
Assembly:
I glued the brown border layer to the card base, and then centered the card face on top of both.
Final Thoughts:
I wanted the border to be informal rather than precise so in some areas, I took a small pick tool and a brush and removed embossing powder here and there to create an irregular line.
All of the elements on this card came together in a way that suggests boho to me, and I like it!
