Would you like to experiment with a design like this? You'll find a supply list below, including a link to the stencil I used from A Colorful Life Designs. Let’s get Started:

Card Base: 5.5 x 8.5, scored and folded at 4.25

Card Face: 5.25 x 4

Extra white cardstock: 5.5 x 4.25

Card Face:

  • I laid the card face on a piece of scrap paper and positioned the stencil, securing it with Mint Tape (because I was working with a paste I didn’t want to take a chance on getting it on my Grip Mat).

  • Using Lunar Paste** and a palette knife, I spread red across the top, green across the bottom and gold in the middle to join the two. Where I had too much of any one colour I simply added a touch more of another over the top.

  • I removed the stencil and placed it into water immediately, and put the card face aside to dry.

Other:

  • I put the extra cardstock into my stamp positioner and stamped the image with Versamark embossing ink several times to ensure good coverage.

  • I picked up the card stock, added gold embossing powder and set it with my heat gun.

  • I used a die to cut out the image.

  • I die-cut four small trees from the remaining cardstock.

Assembly

  • I glued the card face to the card base, centering on all sides.

  • After putting dimensional foam on the back of the circular die cut, I put it towards the top of the card.

  • I put the trees in place as shown.

Final Thoughts:

I love the sheen of Lunar Paste and I am tickled with the way this turned out. I knew that I didn’t want to mix the red and green (I would have had shiny mud, LOL) so putting the gold between seemed to be the answer Because I didn’t let the colours dry between applications there are streaks of gold in both red and green, which are fabulous.
